Special Education Itinerant Services (SEIS) (3-5 Years)
Variety provides preschool students classified as preschool students with disabilities with special instruction provided by a certified special education teacher (SEIT) in community settings with their peers or at home.
- SEITs regularly consult with the preschool teacher as well as the parents to discuss interventions to include the preschool student with disabilities in the inclusive setting.
- SEITs work with each child on IEP goals within the classroom, community or home setting
- ABA methodology is used when needed for a child on the autism spectrum
The primary goal of SEIT is to provide the necessary special education supports to help the child benefit from participation in a community early childhood program. As with all therapies, the goal of the SEIT is to teach the child to function within the educational setting independently without SEIT support.
